In the beginning it was just an idea. a small one at that. One man thought that it was possible to recreate human genetics. To make them "better". Which I guess in some ways he did. His name was Edgar Florence and his sister was diagnosed with leukemia. He thought that if he could generate a serum that could regenerate his sisters cells, maybe she would live. What he found was much more than that. He began to illegal test his experiments on people he thought the world would care about. homeless people and criminals mostly. What he found was that many people died in reaction to the serums. It made him uncomfortable but he kept pushing. At some point, he lost sight of what he was originally searching for. His goal became to create a better genetic make-up. a more powerful one. And he succeeded.
Not long after that, his sister passed away, taking with her the only part of his soul that remained humane. He continued his testing, with the original purpose of saving lives completely discarded. He soon discovered a genetic anomaly. Something that could be studied. Something caused by his tests. A woman by the name of Eos Pryer was the first he found bearing the genetic marker of a mutant creature. Someone with a super power, of sorts. Many soon followed by the name he gave them stuck. From that day forward, the Eos people were created.
For almost fifty years he held the Eos people captive in the labs at Helios Researcher. He studied them and treated them like animals. He forced them to breed and studied their children when they died. He was pure evil. But to some people, he was a hero. He did not advertise his discoveries to the world. He kept them a guarded secret, holding anyone who found out hostage in the cells of Helios Researchers. But the Eos people were stronger than he was. And when he finally died, they decided to stage a rebellion.
The rebellion has begun. Some of the Eos people chose to stay in the labs, fearing how the outside world would react to genetically "superior" people. But many of them fled the labs, integrating themselves into society as best they could. They have a secret they must protect at all costs. And someone is hunting them down, killing them off if he can. They call themselves The Citizens. They are people who believe that the genetic experiment is an abomination and want to bury it before the secret get out and causes worldwide panic.
